UEFA on Monday announced the postponement of the Champions League, Europa League, and women’s Champions League finals, which were initially slated for May. This decision is due to the coronavirus pandemic, no new date has been announced for the finals
The competitions had earlier been postponed until further notice earlier this month.
According to UEFA ”no decision has yet been made on rearranged dates”.The working group, established last week as a result of the conference call among the stakeholders of European football, which was chaired by UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, will analyze the options available,”
“The group has already begun its examination of the calendar. Announcements will be made in due course.”
The Champions League final had been initially scheduled to be played at Istanbul’s Ataturk Stadium on May 30, while that of the women’s champions league final was slated for May 24 in Vienna. The Europa League final was billed to be played at the Polish city Gdansk three days before the champions league final.
