On the Sunday 28th of September, breakout dancer Stephen “Papi” Ojo would be going live on Instagram with Inside9jeriatv to bare it all about his journey into the limelight.
Papi Ojo is self-taught 22-year-old Nigerian-born performer who has subtly played a laudable role in taking African dance to American stages. He danced right beside Rihanna’s at the 2018 Grammys as their gwara gwara dance (from South Africa) , he also taught Janet Jackson the kupe (from Ghana) for her music video “Made For Now,” a vibrant whirlwind of diasphoric triumph. And on ’ Black is King’ , a visual album directed, written, and executive produced by American singer Beyoncé, Ojo is the most outstanding face beyond that of its main star. He plays the “blue man,” who represents the subconscious of the protagonist prince and the power of African dance
Be sure to make it a date with us as we catch up on everything with the notable dancer on Saturday, September 26th via our Instagram page.
