Davido makes his comeback from his much needed social media break ,as he drops ’Fem’, while Black Diamond, Wande Coal drops his third studio album. Newly signed Bahd guy records act, Sir Dauda drops his debut body of work. It’s another Friday, and as usual we’ve got new music trickling from all corners. Let’s do you the honors once again of dissecting and listing them out for your listening pleasure.
- Davido – Fem
Premiered across top radio stations in Lagos, Nigeria, Davido finally dropped his much-awaited single ’Fem ’on the evening of Thursday 10th, 2020. The song had generated buzz after snippets and bts of the visuals to the song were dropped by associates. The 27-year-old afro beat act had earlier announced the coming of his third studio album ’A Better Time’ before going Mia on social media. Is Fem the lead single? Yeah, it seems so, but I guess time would tell. The song was accompanied with its visuals, a video directed by buzzing video director, Dammy Twitch. Fem is an instant hit song as we expect it to top charts.
- Wande Coal – Realms ( Ep)
Since he dropped his sophomore studio album, ’Wanted’ in 2015, they’ve been yearning (Rightly so ) from all centres, for the Again crooner to drop a body of work.Well, I guess it’s finally here. And even though we might want to point out the fact that 4 of the 7tracks listed on the Ep have been released before now, some even last year, we still have on our hands a new project from King Coal. Wande Coal has been an on and off the scene guy, since he left the hands of Don Jazzy’s label, Mavins Record, back in 2013. While this was an out of the blues kind of release, as the 34 years who just recently announced the kick off of his clothing merch, announced the coming of the Ep 48hrs to its release. Realm is classic wande coal giving us a mix of party vibes and creme da la creme soothing rhythms. The remix to his lovely ’Again’ tune debuted on the album, as he features US rapper, Wale to lace some bars on the track. For most music enthusiasts or the ardent Wande Coal fan, you might be familiar with some of the songs, but nonetheless there are two never heard singles on the album. So what’s not to love. Enjoy
3)Mr. Eazi, Major Lazer – ft Nicki Minaj, K4mo -Oh My Gawd
Mr. Eazi and American electronic dance music trio, Major Lazer team up once again to put up this new single .Major Lazer are ramping up to the release of their fourth LP, Lazerism. Back in May the Diplo-led crew started teasing the song new collaboration with Afrobeats sensation, Mr. Eazi also features rap and pop superstar Nicki Minaj and Eazi’s fellow Nigerian K4MO. The song is finally out and as Mr Eazi had earlier disclosed the single was actually recorded back in 2016. That’s a long time to have held a collabo such as this.But then again, there you have it.
4)Jinmi Abduls ft Joeboy, Oxlade- Jowo
Jimmy of Lagos as he is fondly called, enlists the services of his fellow new schoolboys, the hook kings- Oxlade and Joeboy. The song is definitely what you expect when you hear of such collaboration, as the trio sway the track with their distinctive vocals. It’s definitely a worthy check out.
5) Sir Dauda – Love Ex Machina EP
Singer , songwriter, and instrumentalist, Sir Dauda drops his debut body of work ’ Love Ex Machina’. The singer, who just recently nicked a record sealed with multi talented act Falz record label ,Bahd Guys Entertainment .Dauda, a frequent collaborator with industry household names such as Sdc, Poe, Falz, and others, shows why his pen game is rated highly by industry big cats on this Ep as he exudes that marvelous art on the project. Features on the Ep includes breakout artist, Good girl La and chart-topping songstress, Simi .The production of the project is handled by A-List hitmakers such as Willis, Chillz, Sizzle PRO, and Focus Ramon.
