The police in Osun State have apprehended the missing COVID-19 patient from the state’s isolation centre in Ejigbo.
The patient, a woman, was apprehended on Saturday and returned to the centre.
Osun State Police Commissioner, Johnson Kokumo, was within the isolation centre premises when the woman was brought back into the facility by the police on Saturday afternoon. The Chief Press Secretary to Osun State Governor, Ismail Omipidan, confirmed that the patient had been returned to the isolation centre.During a visit to the centre, there was heavy presence of security personnel with operatives of the Department of State Services and police stationed at the gate.
Kukomo was also seen coordinating other security personnel on the premises of the centre.
Going round the isolation centre, located inside the state hospital, Gedu, Ejigbo, those that tested positive could be heard talking inside the hall, while medical personnel attending to them moved round to attend to them.
