Lionel Messi has once again expressed his frustration with Barcelona, this time after Luis Suarez’s departure from the club.
The Uruguayan, who is Barcelona’s third top scorer of all time, was told by both the club and Ronald Koeman that he is not in their plans, so he’s joined Atletico Madrid on a free, albeit with add-ons that could rise to six million euros.
For Messi, he is not happy about the way Suarez, one of his best friends, has been kicked out of the club.
“You deserved to depart like what you are: one of the most important players in the club’s history, winning things as part of a group & individually,” Messi wrote on Instagram, accompanied by some photos of them together.
“Not for them to kick you out as they have done.
“But the truth is nothing surprises me any more.”
The way that Barcelona have treated Suarez has not pleased Messi, who himself wanted to leave the club this summer but has been forced to stay for one more year.
