Former Manchester United and Belgium international player, Marouane Fellaini has tested positive to the deadly coronavirus.
This was confirmed in a statement by his Chinese club Shandong Luneng on Sunday. The 32-year- old became the first known case in the Chinese Super League (CSL).
The Belgium international has a normal temperature and is feeling fine, Shandong said, but “is under observation and having treatment at a designated medical facility, the club will do its best to help in the treatment and recovery of the player”.
Fellaini joins the likes of Juventus players Paulo Dybala and Blaise Matuidi, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and a couple of football players that have contracted the virus. The footballer has since come out via his Twitter handle to confirm the reports.
