Lagos state government has declared the ban any gathering of over twenty people in the state .
The state government had earlier fixed restrictions on gatherings of over 50 in order to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease.
However, due to the recent increase in the number of cases in Nigeria the state has decided to reduce the number to 20. 10 new cases were confirmed by the federal ministry of health on March 21, 2020, 7 of which were in Lagos while the other 3 in Abuja bringing the total number of people with the virus to 22.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), nine out of the 10 cases have travel history outside Nigeria in the last one week, while the 10th case is a close contact of a confirmed case.
Lagos state has also banned religious, night parties and clubbing activities in the state.
