Kunle Afolayan is one of Nigeria’s most awarded filmmakers who continues to bless our screens with mind-blowing Nollywood and Netflix films. Following the release of October 1, Swallow, A Naija Christmas, and Citation with positive reviews, Kunle Afolayan now has another Netflix project, “Anikulapo,” which is set to premiere in September.

“Anikulapo” is part of Netflix’s multi-title agreement with Kunle Afolayan. The film will be released on the 30th of September 2022 (Kunle Afolayan’s birthday).

“Anikulapo” is a unique mystical folklore drama that reflects the Yoruba culture and traditions.

The movie features a brilliant cast of Yoruba Nollywood actors and actresses including the sensational Kunle Remi, Sola Sobowale, Hakeem K. Kazeem, Bimbo Ademoye, and Taiwo Hassan, Fathia Balogun, Adebayo Salami, Moji Olayiwola, and Kareem Adepoju.

“Anikulapo” follows the life of Saro, a young, ambitious man seeking greener pastures in the historic Oyo Kingdom. However, the odds seemed to be stacked against him in the events which unfolded.

Anikulapo was shot at KAP Film Village and Resort by Kunle Afolayan.
