Nigerian singer, Joeboy is among the 30 global artists selected for YouTube’s Foundry class of 2022. The list also includes Ghana’s Black Sherif.
The 2022 Foundry Class includes artists from the United States, Brazil, Denmark, and Sub-Saharan Africa. These artists work in different genres such as Country, Afropop, Soul, and Latin Urban.
Other global artists who made it to the class include Genesis Owusu, Haru Nemuri, RIMON Roxane Bruneau, Skiifall, Amari Noelle, Ashley Cooke, ART, BIBI, and French The Kid.
Seleted acts will receive partner support from YouTube and seed funding which will be invested into the development of their music content.
The YouTube Foundry, which started in 2015, is YouTube’s incubator for independent music. It supports independent artists by giving them annual classes to help them grow and support campaigns for when they put out new music.
Foundry celebrates the courage of independent artists and the communities that surround them.
