Ex Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has been nominated for the Player of the Month award for Manchester United football club for the month of March.

The 30-year-old who joined the English giants on loan from Chinese side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in January on a loan deal was selected alongside center-back Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and defensive midfielder Fred for the award. Ighalo has put up a decent performance since joining the club netting four goals in four starts.

In March, the 30-year-old scored three goals including his brace in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Derby County in the FA Cup. He continued to increase his match contribution tally with a goal and assist in the club 5-0 win over LASK in a Europa League round-of-16 tie. These performances have earned him a spot in the nominees for the monthly club award.

Ighalo has played eight games for Manchester United but is however yet to register any goal in the Premier League. The winner of the award would be announced on Saturday, March 21st
