Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has received a second term approval by the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
The governor’s bid for second term was approved on Monday, 18th April 2022. Sanwo-Olu can now contest for second term as the Governor of Lagos State on the platform of the APC in the 2023 gubernatorial poll.
The GAC, which is the peak decision-making body within the state’s ruling political class of APC, agreed and gave the nod for the second term at a meeting held at the State House, Marina.
According to a source, the governor would soon declare his intention to contest for the governorship poll.
Confirming the report, Seye Oladejo, APC spokesman for Lagos state, said: “Yes it’s true. Well deserved.”
However, the only contender to Sanwo-Olu till date is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly called ‘Jandor’.
