Elon Musk: Twitter’s top shareholder and CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, has decided not to

join the board of the micro-blogging platform.

This was made known by Twitter’s CEO, Parag Agrawal on Sunday, 10th April. Agrawal had

previously announced that the Tesla chief would be appointed to the board.

“Elon has decided not to join our board,” tweeted CEO Parag Agrawal.

“Elon’s appointment to the board was to become officially effective 4/9, but Elon shared that

same morning he will no longer be joining the board.”

“I believe this is for the best,” Agrawal said.

Musk was earlier named to join the Twitter board after buying a major stake in the firm and

becoming its largest shareholder.

He later tweeted that he was “Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make

significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!”

Last week, Musk disclosed a purchase of 73.5 million shares – or 9.2 percent – of Twitter’s

common stock.

Despite Musk’s refusal to join the board, Agrawal added that the Tesla CEO is Twitter’s biggest

shareholder they will remain open to his input.
