Speculations have been raised as to whether the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu actually snubbed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the All Progressives Congress – APC presidential convention shortly after winning the presidential ticket of the party. Tinubu, who is the National leader of APC was said to have snubbed Yemi Osinbajo at the recently completed national convention of the party held at the Eagles Square, Abuja.

This was seen in a video shared by Arise TV. The video revealed how Tinubu skipped Osinbajo while he exchanged pleasantries with the President, Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha Buhari as well as the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi and others present at the VVIP corner.

The video later showed the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, talking to Tinubu, after which he was seen going back to shake hands with Osinbajo.

Since 1999, Tinubu and Osinbajo have enjoyed a cordial political relationship. This might be due to the fact that Osinbajo served during the Tinubu administration when he was governor of Lagos.

Since preparations for the presidential race started, many believed that Osinbajo shouldn’t have contested the presidential seat with Tinubu, being his former boss.

Earlier, Tinubu claimed that he nominated Osinbajo as President Buhari’s running mate in 2015, as part of the political bargaining that led to the formation of APC.

On the APC presidential primaries, Tinubu won the election, polling 1271 votes to beat his major opponents, the former minister and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi who polled 316 while Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, had 235 votes.
