Amudo says one of D’banj’s friends informed him that Seyitan Babatayo had been settled financially.
The former manager of music star, Oyebanjo Dapo also known as D’banj, Franklyn Amudo says Seyitan Babatayo who accused him of rape was paid $100 after the hotel incident.
Amudo made this known during a chat with Goldmyne TV while answering questions about what transpired between Babatayo and his former boss on the day of the incident.
According to the music star’s former manager, Ms Babatayo informed him that D’banj raped her in the hotel room.
“Upon getting to Ghana, I just saw that my phone kept on ringing because we were on the bus, and it was Seyitan. We were in the car to the apartment so I didn’t pick. When we got to the apartment, I put on the wifi then I saw her message and I called her back and asked why she was calling me,” he said.
“The first question she asked was that ‘were you aware that D’banj was coming to my room?’ I said No because first of all D’banj doesn’t even know my room, and he didn’t even lodge at Glee hotel.”
“That was when she made the allegation that D’banj came into her room and had forceful carnal knowledge of her.”
Amudo said he was unable to bring up the topic with D’banj because he was staying in the same apartment with his wife during their trip to Ghana.
“She sent it via voice note. I can even play it for you. When she sent it, I was disturbed. I called Chizzy and told him about it and we spoke. Let’s not forget that D’banj’s wife was also on that trip with us and we were all staying at an Airbnb apartment and I could not bring up the topic because of that,” he said.
Disturbed by the allegations, Amudo said he contacted one of D’banj’s close friends in Lagos, Aja Mohammed who then told him not to bother, that Ms Babatayo had been settled with $100.
“I called Aja Mohammed in Lagos and told him about it asked for his take on the issue. He was like ‘Franklyn don’t bother yourself, it has been resolved’ that he had given the girl involved$100. Then I called Seyitan to confirm about the $100 and why she is still talking about rape, she got angry,” he said.
“Seyitan in the same voice note said she was not trying to clout chase or do anything, that she just wanted me to know the kind of people I was working with and I said noted. That was the end of our conversation.”
It would be recalled that in her now deleted tweets, Seyitan Babatayo made mention of the $100 which was given to her by D’banj through her friend for medication. “And he gave my friend 100 dollars to give me to take medication,” she tweeted.
Amudo’s interview is coming a few days after D’banj sued Ms Babatayo for N1.5B.
Ms Babatayo on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, first accused D’banj of raping her in a hotel room in December 2018.
D’banj had come out to deny the accusation and demanded apology and N100M in damages while there were reports that he used the police to try
and bully Babatayo.
