Quique Setien has named the Barcelona squad that will travel to Lisbon to dispute the quarter-finals onwards in the Champions League, with Ousmane Dembele being included in a squad list for the first time in nine months.
Everyone has been waiting for the Frenchman’s return.
Setien even considered calling him up for the last-16 tie with Napoli last Saturday, but he didn’t in the end because he saw that the winger lacked a bit of confidence.
Dembele is now fully recovered from his injury and could get some minutes under his belt against Bayern Munich on Friday. If he doesn’t come on as a substitute, he may start and be brought off.
The 26-man squad is without Samuel Umtiti, who will remain in Barcelona to continue his recovery from injury.
Peculiarly, Martin Braithwaite has travelled with the squad, despite the fact that he cannot play in the Champions League as he is not registered.
Nine players from Barcelona B have made the squad.
Barcelona will head to Lisbon from El Prat Airport on Thursday at 10:15am and then train in the afternoon at the Estadio Da Luz.
Barcelona’s squad that will travel to Lisbon is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Neto, Inaki Pena.
Defenders: Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Junior Firpo, Ronald Araujo, Oscar Mingueza.
Midfielders: Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Arturo Vidal, Riqui Puig, Monchu, Ludovit Reis, Jandro Orellana.
