The Lagos State Government has directed operators of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) to suspend their operations indefinitely following the death of 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwola.

DailyPost reports that the action was taken as a precaution after intelligence on “planned attacks” by persons yet to be identified.

A memo was reportedly sent to BRT operators, through the Ministry of Transportation, ordered them to stop operations pending when they consider the atmosphere is safe to do so.

The government was said to have told the operators that it could not guarantee 100 percent protection at the moment.
