Spanish football club Atletico Madrid’s manager Diego Simeone tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the club announced on Saturday.
“Our coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, has tested positive for COVID in the last tests carried out yesterday; He is asymptomatic, fulfilling the corresponding quarantine at his home”, Atletico said on its website.
Simeone, 50, took the helm of Atletico Madrid in 2012 and helped his team claim two UEFA Europa League titles and as many UEFA Super Cup trophies.
