One of Africa’s biggest music exports, Wizkid and Jamaican dancehall king, Vybz Kartel set social media into a frenzy on Sunday, May 3 as they went head to head with their catalog.
Organized by a popular magazine ”Nostalgia live” the battle was hosted on Youtube with fans and music lovers trooping to the site to catch in on the fun. Polls were handled by No signal on twitter kicking the fun by 9pm. 10 vs 10 hit songs were set out as representatives of the duo dished out lovely tunes back and forth.
The ever buzzing ”Wizkid fc” were at the forefront of things, repping their favourite. Little wonder why Wizkid was the victor in all the rounds, sweeping all the votes. Evergreen Wizkid songs were played ranging from tunes from his debut album ”Superstar” to his stunning hit track ”Ojuelegba” to much recent track ”Soco” and his sick feature on R2bees ”Slow down ” .
World boss as he is popularly referred to in his country, Jamaica vybz Kartel had people in nostalgia as his boogie down and dirty whine riddim were played. Songs like “Real Badman”, “Business”, don’t Run” and Bicycle “ were played. However it was quite baffling why his hit tune ”Clarks ” was left out of the playlist.
All in all it was premium content at its peak as celebrities all over the world joined in in the conversation and banter. Wizkid, #NS10vs10, Vybz kartel where top of the trend list on Twitter worldwide with literally every music lover watching and joining the conversation.
