Lawyer tells Dangote and Otedola to pay ASUU’s N1.1trn demand

Pelumi Olajengbesi, an Abuja-based lawyer, has appealed to Chief Executive Officers of banks and billionaire businessmen including Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Abdul Samad Rabiu, and Mike Adenuga, to meet the monetary demands of N1.1 trillion of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to Pelumi, the Federal Government has shown a non-challant act towards resolving the ongoing strike which started on February 14, 2022.

Olajengbesi urged the leaders of industry to take charge just as they did during the COVID-19 pandemic when their financial intervention contributed immensely to the country’s fight against the disease and its economic implications.

The lawyer’s appeal to the individuals followed the remarks of Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi who said the Federal Government cannot borrow N1.1 trillion to meet ASUU’s demands.
