Portable, one of Nigeria’s fast-rising singers, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC), paid him to support Bola Tinubu, its presidential candidate, ahead of the 2023 election.
Earlier, the singer had visited Gboyega Oyetola, the Governor of Osun state, during which he endorsed him for re-election. During his meeting with Oyetola in Osogbo, the state capital, he had also endorsed Tinubu for president.
Portable as well showed money believed to have been given to him by Oyetola in a viral video.
His action had spurred negative reactions on the internet.
However, in a follow-up video via his Instagram page, Portable clapped back at his critics, saying he was paid to support the ex-Lagos governor for president, and they should allow him to do his “job”
He also said, “I was once paid to insult Tinubu, but that was a long time ago. Now, I have been paid by APC to support Tinubu and I will do so. If you are paid to do something, do it well… it’s Tinubu’s turn. I must do the job which they paid for.”
However, APC is yet to react to his claim.
