Elon Musk becomes world’s richest man on Forbes list with a net worth of over $219BN. Tesla’s Elon Musk is now the world’s richest man, surpassing former Amazon president Jeff Bezos. This was revealed by Forbes Magazine on 5th of April.

The billionaire topped the annual list for the first time with a net worth of $219 billion. Bezos, who in the last four years has been recognized as the richest person in the world, landed on the second spot with a net worth of $171 billion.

Bernard Arnault of luxury goods company LVMH, is third wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of $158 billion while Microsoft founder, Bill Gates is fourth with a net worth approximately $129 billion. Completing the top five list is Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway with a net worth of $118 billion.

Rounding up the Top 10 world’s billionaires are Larry Page ($111 billion), Sergrey Bin ($107 billion), Larry Ellison ($106 billion), Steve Ballmer ($91.4 billion), and Mukesh Ambani ($90.7 billion). According to Forbes, there are now 2,668 billionaires worldwide, a number down from last year’s record 2,755.
