It appears the suspended Commander of the Police Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, might get a softlanding from the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, who has declared that there is no evidence of money laundering against the officer.
.
Kyari’s new stance is coming weeks after he revealed that a case of money laundering has been established against Kyari, and directed the police to launch a probe against him for allegedly receiving 33 proceeds of crime.
In a new twist, however, the justice Minister has issued a fresh legal advice saying there was no evidence to show that money was laundered by the senior police officer, The Punch reported.
The Police suspended Kyari in July, 2021 after the United States declared him wanted for his alleged involvement in a $1.1m scam carried out by a notorious internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi.
