It’s a few days to the weekend, and binge-watching a movie to unwind and cool off might not be a bad idea. Selecting a movie to watch on a movie player platforms such as Netflix , is undoubtedly nothing short of a daunting task. More so when you’re not a movie buff. You see tons of movies, and you immediately have to think of the perfect one to pick. One that you won’t after 10mins quit or fall asleep watching. We’ve decided to do the honors of compiling five Nigerian movies you probably should binge-watch anytime soon. Movies you’re most likely going to be elated you gave a try. Here are 4 Nigerian movies to check out on Netflix 

1)The Lost Okoroshi

Released in September 2019, the lost Okoroshi follows the life of a young man who while trying to adjust to the urban life, which he relocated to for the cliche- greener pastures, reconnects with the past. Directed by Abba Makama, the movie sees the young man, named Raymond ( Seun Ajayi) transform  into an Okoroshi Ancestral masquerade. His transformation ultimately takes him on an albeit emotional rollercoaster journey, as he has to navigate the hurdle of being a security guard, a husband, and his newfound responsibility of being a masquerade.

The movie is set in the economic hub of Nigeria, Lagos state, and runs for a period of 94minutes. Action, adventure, and drama are all infiltrated into this movie.

2) 93 days

“93 Days”, tells the true life story of the late Nigerian physician, Stella Adadevoh, whose courteous role was key in curbing the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria.The late Adadevoh led the team who oversaw the treatment of Patrick Sawyer, the first patient diagnosed with Ebola in Nigeria. She stopped Sawyer from leaving the hospital to board a flight to Calabar in southern Nigeria.Adadevoh also provided staff with relevant information about the virus, procured protective gear and quickly contacted relevant officials.

Eight people in Nigeria, including Adadevoh, later died. 93 days was first premiered in 2016 ,and veteran Bollywood actress veteran Bimbo Akintola. The movie showcases the heroic acts of the late Adadovah and her First Consultant Medical Center whose quick actions saved countless lives. A thrilling encounter, the movie is definitely a must watch.

3) Diamonds in the sky

Released in 2016, diamonds in the sky centers around the lives of three families who are affected by the deadly cancer disease. Navigating this new scourge in their lives presents emotional challenges for them leading to their bonds being tested. The movie was directed by multiple award winning ace movie director, Kunle Afolayan, and starred notable movie acts. 

Diamonds In The Sky is a family drama that takes viewers through a roller coaster of emotions like love, joy and disappointment that comes together to play in what makes this movie an outstanding flick.

4) Elevator baby

Elevator Baby is a 2019 Nigerian drama thriller film directed by Akay Mason and produced by Niyi Akinmolayan. The film is centered around Dare, a privileged young man with a fiery temper who gets stuck in a faulty elevator with a semi-illiterate pregnant woman who later went into labour. It was produced by Niyi’s production company Anthill Studios, and stars Toyin Abraham, Timini Egbuso, Sambasa Nzeribe, Samuel Olatunji, Emem Ufot , Shafy Bello, and others.
